A very effective improvement on a Bafang pedal motor is to reduce the size of the chainring to gain torque or to make a double chainring assembly for mixed use in which one seeks torque for big climbs and high speed in a straight line.
With this adapter, a traditional monatge in 39/53 is quite feasible.
Note however that when the chain is on the outermost chainring, only the first four sprockets of the cassette will be usable (the small sprockets).
This adapter also allows a mono chainring monatge lighter than the original steel chainring which will offer better pedaling efficiency.
